thats a line from the song "the riddle" by five for fighting. both my dad and i had such love for these guys. his favorite thing was that they had such a strong name for a band that sings relatively cute/light/loving tunes.

there are things in my life that hit that sweet spot of reminding me of a memory and this band is one of those things. this song really resonates with me.

what is it about certain songs that have the power to take you somewhere else? or feel such a strong emotion? take journey...who doesnt have 1000 memories surrounding "dont stop believing"? i for one still smile when r. kelly's "remix to ignition" comes on. same for 50 cent's "in da club" and ace of base's "i saw the sign". ill always get excited for the backstreet boys, jefferson starship, the spin doctors and phil collins.

its pretty cool how powerful music can be.

ahh yes the day we celebrate love. 

i think my best valentine to date still remains freshmen year in college. he was the best.BEST.

the worst valentine i have had to date was from 2009. WORST.you all know the story...and the boy.

i get annoyed when people complain that its a hallmark holiday and its too commercial. relax people...its fun to buy into cutesy love things and candy hearts (however, i draw the line at plush bears at duane reade). im sorry, but NO. men i saw in line there last night...horrible taste. im sure youre lovely people, but im dissapointed.

i invite a reason for the population to buy into a theme...its fun! a reason to say i love you, eat chocolate and smile at everyone. enjoy it and drop the cynic inside yourself. you need to do some soul searching if you really concern yourself that something like valentines day is too commercial, im sorry.

i know im a day late...i was busy helping cupid spread the love. no, really i was slaving away at work...full time job and helping my boss with her wedding is CRAZY! kinda makes me smile at the possibility ill one day do it tho. maybe?

it was the low class version of a trip to mexico

i rode a mexican party bus on friday night. its exactly what you think it is...a bus with an amazing array of flashing lights and colors, sombreros, coolers of tequila and more mexican blankets than i thought existed.

and we didnt have to pay for it.

let me explain.we were leaving bar #1 when we decided it was a good idea to walk our drunken selves to bar #2. lo and behold we spot this flashing bus and squealed with delight. there were 3 boys walking toward us and we asked them to join. (one of the boys was celebrating a birthday so it all felt right).

we got on and the driver agreed to drive us around. without a care in the world we danced all over the bus holding on to ropes strategically placed overhead. im not sure this is safe or smart no matter how i spin it...but it was hilarious.eventually we got off and said goodbye to the driver*

from there we continued our bar hopping fun* and went to bed at 4am.

*disclaimers: i left a few details out in protection of an individual that does not behave well most nights. fab night though...i love this city!
