juice cleanse, day 2

good morning to all you lovely people who ate breakfast this morning. i hope you had super sugary, super chocolatey donut for me. we are on day 2 of this juice cleanse/detox/whatever we are doing...its only for 2 days so the end is near!!

im usually game to try just about anything, even more so when it challenges me physically. this juice idea is something the three of us had been thinking of doing and its definitely/infinitely easier when coworkers are in cahoots with you.

what i am noticing the most on this cleanse is just how much i miss the act of chewing. i dont feel hungry, per se, just light. ive been munching on celery during the day and at dinner and chewing a few pieces of gum to keep my mouth busy but thats it.

i skipped coffee yesterday COMPLETELY. that wasnt cool. i had tea instead which really sucked...no idea why, but i hate the taste of hot tea. today i am drinking coffee. i am going to drink coffee going forward so i figure it was kinda cool to skip a day but its fine to start again. the world thanks me :)

i noticed i felt a bit loopy yesterday. we all had that feeling of being high...were told thats normal. makes sense...technically were hungry so our bodies are reacting. each day gives us 5 juices....i wish i liked them all, but i just dont. yesterday i drank about 3 of them (maybe slightly less). I could only stomach about 1/5 of the beet juice flavored one and none of the kale one. i drank about 2/3 of the blueberry one but once it started to come to room temp i was over it. i drank 2 of the orange juices yesterday...AMAZING!

i started today with my last orange juice one...orange, grapefruit and lemongrass. DELICIOUS! my second juice today is a mix of swss chard, kale, dandelion, celery, cucumber, etc...its SUPER GREEN! i dont love it but i do know its good for me. and quite frankly, i need some sustenance so ill down it :) cant lie though, im downing some more coffee later to fuel run club tonight!

And just like that, summer sixteen is over. Hello fall! 2013: a year in review. so far

today is february 22nd.we are already almost 2/12 of the way through 2013. i realize that line may sound uber cheesy, but seriously, time fucking flies.


2013 has definitely been a cool year. hard, confusing, sad and stressful, but certainly cool. parts of it have also been special, funny, amazing and sweet. all of that emotion in 2 months? hey man, im a girl. were dramtaic.



ive got high hopes for the rest of the year. there are a few running races in the books, with more to be added im sure. there will be some travel...im heading to see my besties in chicago and boston and bro in NC to name a few. im hoping there is a trip to somewhere warm in the near future...i have no interest in resembling a vampire...that shit has been overexposed already.

break a sweat - even when youd rather do ANYTHING but.

there is only one way to begin the difficult journey of the holiday sugar detox: break a sweat. 

miraculously i didnt miss a day over the holidays to break a sweat -- but that really just means i got up extra early or ran when people were napping (i.e. full and feeling gross) so not all of my holiday miles or squats were pretty. or felt particular good.

BUT, i laced up and got out there -- or followed along to a dailyburn workout. i kept telling myself i could slow down or take it easier, but shit, im doing a workout.

so basically, what they say is true. no matter how slow you go, youre still lapping everyone on the couch. go get in a good sweat, then reward yourself with some couch time :)
